Topic title

Renting life: The everyday lives of evicted family members in rusunawa and the making of new urban political subject

Topic description

My topic is broadly about the social and political lives of residents who were removed from informal settlements in Jakarta and were relocated to public rental walk-up flats (rusunawa). I’m interested to understand how residents negotiate such displacement and what the dynamic of their everyday life in rusunawa tell us about state and society relations.
